Position Announcement

Seattle Mennonite Church, a progressive Mennonite church in the Lake City neighborhood of Seattle, invites applications for the position of Finance and Project Manager. Our Administrator is retiring at the end of January 2023, and we are looking for a great candidate to join our team. This is a permanent, part-time position that executes the daily, weekly, and monthly administrative tasks related to the many activities of the church, its properties, and its ministries. The Financial and Project Manager works in close collaboration with the pastoral team, other employees, and relevant members of volunteer committees and councils in order to carry out the wide-ranging responsibilities of the position.

Position Overview

The Finance and Project Manager is responsible for the church’s financial, legal, and compliance matters. The Manager is also responsible for overall property and project management, including oversight of the sale of our campus and resulting creation of church space in the new affordable housing building being developed and constructed over the next 3 – 5 years. This position works in close collaboration with the Stewardship Council, the pastoral team, other employees, and relevant members of the volunteer leadership team in order to carry out its wide-ranging responsibilities.

Project management responsibilities may change if the timeline or outcome of the housing development project changes. Updated responsibilities will become a mutual discussion if/when that becomes applicable.

$35,000 – $45,000 annual salary, depending on experience
